i've been out with friends lots, as well as catching up on sleep. have to also read a mountain of books for this history essay i'm writing - need to research a ton of confusing old german philosophers. kierkegaard, nietschze, heidegger. confusing but amazing stuff. i do have a lot of homework over break, but i'm hardly planning on doing it. ;]
 
my life currently consists of:

- or, going out with friends.

last night i went out to a dance and there were actually a ton of cute boys there. yay! :) ahahahaha

it's 1.28am here in canadaland. where the snow is still almost as tall as me and my computer room is cold cooooold and i have no idea wtf this set even is although i love the dreamcatcher necklace and the fact that there's real pants in it and the shoes are kickass.

well, as i may have mentioned earlier, i have the flu. or something. basically for the past 5 days i've had a fever around 101 :/ but i'm not one to take a day off. this of course resulted in my fever eventually going away BUT left me getting a horrible horrible cough and totally losing my voice. hence, the parents put their feet down against hangouts tonight.

LOVE LIFE
i was outside all day til now.
woke up at 6am, dragged my sorry butt out of bed to get ready for 7am orchestra practice. felt like i got run over by a truck in my sleep -- i think i have a bit of the flu. anyway i was aching all over. and then....the best moment ever...
my friend texted me: SNOW DAY
and i checked online
and she was right
i've never been so happy to be canadian.

you all know my intense dislike of mondays. especially when i'm sick and tired and have tons of hw to finish at school.
but anyway everyone started texting me, "snow day! snow day!" and i felt super happy, and then i went back to sleep all morning.
after that i went and had an epic snowball fight with my friends.
and after that we went over to my other friend's house. there were about 30 kids there, it was so great. everyone just showed up and we hung out and wandered around in the snow in the forest nearby and slid down some hills and made the BIGGEST FLIPPIN' FORT IN THE HISTORY OF FORTS in his backyard. used the trampoline for the roof. it was so warm inside. like a real igloo.
i was outside all day in snowpants and my ski coat and omg even though my fever started coming back halfway thru the afternoon, i haven't had such a good day in a while. :)
 
so yeah.
how was your monday?
if you also live in southwestern ontario i'm gonna guess it was similarily awesome. ;D
and if not...i hope it was awesome anyway!

after some time.
i did feel the need to make a set.
so here it is.
the sort of set i've always loved making. with clothes i'd actually wear (i have stuff really similar to this outfit). & with quotes i love and pictures of the sky.
yep.
my fashion sets like this never got a lot of faves, but they've always been my favourite to make. those two-picture sets can have a lot of meaning, but they take about two seconds to put together, not gonna lie. and cropped art sets on the other hand take a million gazillion years.
and as you may have noticed, two things have happened to me:
i have WAY too much going on to spend a lot of time on polyvore (BOO)
and i really really don't feel concerned about set faves and "poly-larity" or anything, anymore. xD i guess i used to do pretty well for faves on here. i'm close-ish to 30 000, and i only joined in june...
 
huh.
i guess this is a sort of goodbye. i keep talking in the past tense.
 
ugh. i'll stop philosophizing. basically what i'm trying to say is, thank you all times a MILLION for your kind words and comments and friendship.
it has meant a whole lot to me. for real. :)
 
and this site is still a big inspiration in so many ways.
but this is a goodbye to competition and popularity contests and battle groups and having to worry about making sets on time.
 
i'll try to keep making a set every week or so.

i feel bad.
i haven't made any sets in what feels like ages - not any ones with any sort of effort anyway - and i'm SO behind on battle groups.. the ones i judge and the ones i'm in.
it's just that with school and life and everything, it's been really hard for me to devote time to dragging computer pictures into shapes that look right .
i'm not about to delete my account or start ranting about how dead poly is now or anything like that. no big ol' "I'M LEAVING, BYE LOSERS" sets from me, don't worry.
 
but the thing is, i've stopped caring lately about things i used to spend a lot of time on. i haven't played guitar in ages. i can't write. it's one in the morning and i've just been here on the computer for ages, trying to find words for what i feel.
 
sometimes, there's just no describing the way your heart and head won't work together.
 
ugh, i'm so tired i probably don't make any sense at all! sorry kids.
i have missed this a lot, actually:
being able to type into this little white box and get out all my annoying feelings and tell you about my day and know that there are people out there who might actually read it.
even better, they might actually care. just a little bit.
that's always been such an amazing thing for me. my contacts cheer me up every time i'm on here.
 
but.
 
i think for now i'm gonna pull out of my battle groups, except maybe one or two if i can manage to get sets together for the deadlines. no more set challenges or anything for me. sara is never online anymore but i will try my best to keep BOTIML going. :)
 
look..i think i'm just going to make sets for myself now.
the way i used to do when i started on here.
before i discovered "hipster" cropped sets, back when i used to just put together pictures that showed how i felt better than my set notes ever could.
 
polyvore, for me, has always been about expressing my style, my creativity, and..well..myself. lately i feel that getting set faves and winning contests became too important to me. i'd rather make sets for fun, not cause i feel like i have to.

my friend and i were at our usual coffee place after school and we looked out the window and it was like a hurricane or something and i was like "guess we have to wait for it to let up"
but of course it never did cause our city gets more thunderstorms than any other in ontario
(i heard that somewhere once, lol)
 
so i took off my shoes and tights and walked to her place anyway
and it was lovely.
